The Yacht Devices YDHS-01R is a digital humidity and temperature sensor designed for Raymarine SeaTalk NG and NMEA 2000 marine electronics networks. It provides compatible chart plotters and instrument displays with relative humidity, air temperature and calculated dew point temperature data.

The YDHS-01R is equipped with a Raymarine SeaTalk NG-compatible connector and is designed for direct plug-and-play connection to the network backbone. It can be used for weather monitoring, fog prediction, cabin comfort monitoring, moisture and condensation detection in lockers, and mold prevention applications.

SeaTalk NG and NMEA 2000 Integration

The YDHS-01R connects directly to the NMEA 2000 / SeaTalk NG bus without requiring a drop cable. Measurement data becomes available to compatible equipment on the network and can be displayed simultaneously on multiple chart plotters and digital navigation instruments.

The device can be configured to transmit measurements as either inside or outside air temperature and humidity. Different NMEA 2000 data instances can also be assigned when multiple Humidity Sensors are installed on the same network.

Historical Data

The YDHS-01R stores humidity and air temperature measurements from the previous 24 hours in internal RAM. Historical data can be retrieved using compatible software or hardware.

Digital Switching Support

With firmware version 1.50 or later, the Humidity Sensor can control compatible NMEA 2000 digital switching channels using PGN 127502 Switch Bank Control. Switching conditions can be based on actual temperature, relative humidity or the difference between actual temperature and calculated dew point.

Configuration

The sensor is factory calibrated. Temperature and humidity offsets from -10.0 to +10.0°C or % RH can be configured to align the readings with other onboard instruments when required.

Installation Recommendations

• Install the sensor in a well-ventilated area away from wet surfaces
• Do not install the sensor in direct sunlight
• Avoid locations where the sensor can be flooded, sprayed or exposed to rain
• Minimize thermal transfer from heated vessel structures
• Install the sensor vertically with the membrane end pointing toward the deck
• Minimum outer cable bend diameter: 30 mm
