Yacht Devices YDGS-01R Exhaust Gas Temperature Sensor with SeaTalk NG Connector, 0–800°C
The Yacht Devices YDGS-01R is a high-temperature marine sensor designed for measuring gases, solids and liquids over a range from 0 to +800°C (+32 to 1472°F). The device is equipped with a Raymarine SeaTalk NG Female connector for direct integration into compatible SeaTalk NG / NMEA 2000 networks.
Temperature is measured by an external thermocouple located outside the device case. The thermocouple uses a flexible 900 mm sheath with an internal heat-resistant fiberglass insulation layer. The sensor is configured at the factory to transmit Outside Temperature for broad display compatibility, but it can be reconfigured for Exhaust Gas Temperature, Engine Room Temperature, Heating System Temperature and other supported NMEA 2000 temperature types.

Thermocouple and Installation
The thermocouple probe has a waterproof stainless-steel tip and a stainless-steel fastener with an external 1/4"-20 UNC thread. A brass thermal interface bolt with an M10 external thread is supplied with the device and can be used to create a watertight thermal interface.
- Thermocouple sheath length: 900 mm
- Thermocouple fastener thread: 1/4"-20 UNC
- Supplied thermal interface bolt: brass, M10 external thread
- Minimum thermocouple bend radius: 9 mm
- Thermocouple wire cannot be extended by the user
For exhaust gas temperature measurement, the thermocouple should be installed on the hottest part of the engine exhaust manifold. The use of suitable thermal insulation is recommended to improve measurement accuracy.

NMEA 2000 Temperature Output
The YDGS-01R can transmit temperature data using PGNs 130310, 130311, 130312 and 130316. PGNs 130310, 130311 and 130312 can provide temperature values only up to +382°C, while PGN 130316 Temperature, Extended Range is required for transmission across the full 0 to +800°C measurement range.
Historical Data
The device stores measurements from the last 4 minutes at 2-second intervals and measurements from the last 48 hours at 1-minute intervals in internal RAM. Historical data can be retrieved by compatible software or hardware.
Digital Switching Support
With firmware version 1.50 or later, the YDGS-01R can control channels of compatible NMEA 2000 digital switching equipment using PGN 127502 Switch Bank Control. Up to three rules can be configured for switching channels on and three rules for switching channels off depending on actual temperature.
- Automatic ventilation control
- High-temperature alarm activation
- Up to 3 ON conditions
- Up to 3 OFF conditions
- Configurable switching delays
Supplied Components
