Yacht Devices YDGS-01N Exhaust Gas Temperature Sensor with NMEA 2000 Micro Male Connector, 0–800°C
The Yacht Devices YDGS-01N is a high-temperature sensor designed for measuring gases, solids and liquids over a range from 0 to +800°C (+32 to 1472°F). The measured temperature is transmitted directly to compatible chart plotters, multifunction displays and other instruments connected to the NMEA 2000 network.
Temperature measurement is performed by an external thermocouple with a flexible 900 mm sheath containing heat-resistant fiberglass insulation. The device is configured at the factory to transmit the measured value as Outside Temperature for maximum display compatibility, but it can be reconfigured for Exhaust Gas Temperature, Engine Room Temperature, Heating System Temperature and other supported NMEA 2000 temperature types.

Thermocouple and Installation
The thermocouple probe has a waterproof stainless-steel tip and a stainless-steel fastener with an external 1/4"-20 UNC thread. A brass thermal interface bolt with an M10 external thread is supplied with the device and can be used to provide a watertight thermal interface.
- Thermocouple sheath length: 900 mm
- Thermocouple fastener thread: 1/4"-20 UNC
- Supplied thermal interface bolt: brass, M10 external thread
- Minimum permitted thermocouple bend radius: 9 mm
- Thermocouple wire cannot be extended by the user
For exhaust gas temperature measurement, installation on the hottest part of the engine exhaust manifold is recommended. A thermal insulation layer can be used to improve measurement accuracy.
Configurable Temperature Types
Type Supported Temperature Data 0 Sea Temperature 1 Outside Temperature 2 Inside Temperature 3 Engine Room Temperature 4 Main Cabin Temperature 5 Live Well Temperature 6 Bait Well Temperature 7 Refrigeration Temperature 8 Heating System Temperature 9 Dew Point Temperature 10 Wind Chill Temperature, Apparent 11 Wind Chill Temperature, Theoretical 12 Heat Index Temperature 13 Freezer Temperature 14 Exhaust Gas Temperature
NMEA 2000 Temperature Output
The device can transmit temperature data using PGNs 130310, 130311, 130312 and 130316. PGNs 130310, 130311 and 130312 can represent temperatures only up to +382°C. PGN 130316 Temperature, Extended Range is required to transmit measurements across the full 0 to +800°C range.
Historical Data
The YDGS-01N stores recent temperature measurements in internal RAM. It stores measurements from the last 4 minutes at 2-second intervals and measurements from the last 48 hours at 1-minute intervals. Historical data can be retrieved using compatible software or hardware.
Digital Switching Support
With supported firmware, the sensor can control channels of compatible NMEA 2000 digital switching equipment using PGN 127502 Switch Bank Control. Up to three rules can be configured for switching channels on and three rules for switching channels off according to measured temperature.
- Automatic ventilation control based on temperature
- High-temperature alarm activation
- Up to 3 ON conditions
- Up to 3 OFF conditions
- Configurable switching delay
