The Yacht Devices YDEN-02R is an Ethernet Gateway designed to connect NMEA 2000 marine networks with navigation PCs, laptops and compatible vessel Ethernet networks. The YDEN-02R version is equipped with a Raymarine SeaTalk NG-compatible network connector and a standard RJ45 Ethernet interface.

The gateway provides NMEA 0183 and NMEA 2000 data streams over TCP and UDP protocols and incorporates a bidirectional converter between NMEA 0183 and NMEA 2000. This allows compatible marine software to receive navigation and AIS data and exchange supported control information with equipment on the NMEA 2000 network.

NMEA 0183 and NMEA 2000 Data Servers

The YDEN-02R provides up to three configurable network data servers. Each server can use TCP or UDP and can be configured for NMEA 0183 or NMEA 2000 RAW data according to the connected application.

NMEA 0183 / NMEA 2000 Conversion

The gateway incorporates a bidirectional converter between NMEA 0183 and NMEA 2000. This allows supported navigation data to move between marine software using NMEA 0183 and equipment operating on the NMEA 2000 network.

NMEA 2000 RAW protocol is also supported for compatible applications such as Expedition 10 and CAN Log Viewer.

Web Interface and Web Gauges

The YDEN-02R contains an internal web server for configuration, firmware updates, diagnostics and vessel data display. Web Gauges can be opened in a standard web browser on a PC, laptop, tablet or smartphone without installing a dedicated application.

Direct PC and Vessel Network Connection

The YDEN-02R can be connected directly to a PC using a standard RJ45 Male-to-Male Cat 5e or Cat 6 Ethernet cable. The Ethernet cable can be up to 100 meters long.

The same type of cable can be used with a standard Ethernet hub, router or Garmin Marine Network. Manufacturer-specific adaptor cables may be required for vessel networks that use proprietary connectors.

Autopilot Integration

The gateway can exchange navigation information with compatible NMEA 2000 and SeaTalk NG autopilot systems through suitable marine software. The relevant server port must be configured for bidirectional operation when control data is sent from an application to the vessel network.

NMEA Message Filtering

The YDEN-02R includes configurable filters for controlling which NMEA 0183 and NMEA 2000 messages can pass between connected applications and the vessel network.

Internal Data Logging

The gateway can automatically record vessel data to internal memory. Recorded information can be downloaded through the built-in web interface without requiring an internet connection.

The logging interval can be configured from 15 seconds to 1 hour. With factory settings, logging is enabled with a 5-minute interval.

Cloud Services

When the connected Ethernet network has internet access, recorded data can be uploaded to Yacht Devices Cloud Services for access to vessel tracks, position sharing and remote monitoring.
