The Maxwell RC12-11 is a stainless steel vertical automatic rope/chain hydraulic windlass from the Maxwell RC12 Series, supplied under article number Vetus P104908. This model features a 90 TDC chainwheel with clockwise (CW) rotation and is designed for combined rope and chain anchoring operations on marine vessels.
The windlass incorporates an automatic rope/chain handling system suitable for controlled anchor deployment and retrieval. A ratcheted mechanism lever ensures that the windlass cannot backwind during emergency manual recovery of the anchor rode, providing an additional level of operational safety.
For safe and correct operation, this windlass must be used in conjunction with a chain stopper and/or an alternative snubbing device to remove load from the windlass while the vessel is lying at anchor. These devices must also be used to secure the anchor in the fully raised position when the vessel is underway.
