Maxwell RC12-11 Vertical Automatic Rope and Chain Windlass 12V 1200W 90TDC CW
The Maxwell RC12-11 is a vertical automatic rope/chain windlass from the Maxwell RC12 Series, supplied under article number Vetus P104906. This model features a 12 V, 1200 W DC motor with clockwise (CW) rotation and a 90 TDC chainwheel for dependable anchor retrieval and deployment. It is engineered to handle both short-link chain and nylon rope in combined operation for marine anchoring tasks.
The RC12 Series incorporates Maxwell’s advanced design philosophy, including a robust stainless steel construction and an effective automatic rope/chain handling system. The patented Wave Design™ chainwheel (standard in the series) optimizes anchor handling performance. For emergency situations, an active latch ratchet system ensures the windlass cannot backwind during manual retrieval of the rode (rope and/or chain).
For safe use, this windlass should be paired with a chain stopper and/or alternative snubbing device to take the load off the windlass while at anchor and to secure the anchor in the fully raised position when underway. The RC12-11 is available as part of a complete package with control switches and dual-direction automatic operation.
