The windlass incorporates Maxwell’s proven automatic rope/chain handling system, enabling smooth anchor deployment and retrieval. The ratcheted mechanism lever enhances operational safety by preventing backwinding during emergency manual retrieval of the anchor rode.
For safe and correct operation, this windlass should be used with a chain stopper and/or alternative snubbing device to take load off the windlass while the vessel is lying at anchor.
