The Vetus ZWB50A Flexible Inner Bearing is an advanced sealing system designed for 50 mm propeller shafts and 76 mm stern tubes. It provides exceptional protection against water ingress while maintaining smooth and vibration-free operation in marine propulsion systems.

This unit features a self-aligning bearing with dual vulcanized sealing lips for double protection against leaks. The precision-machined bronze housing consists of two robust components, one of which incorporates a Ø10 mm hose barb for continuous water supply to lubricate and cool the bearing. A grease nipple located at the top of the housing allows the sealing lips to be lubricated with silicone grease, ensuring extended durability and consistent sealing performance.

To maintain proper cooling and lubrication, a minimum of 20 liters of water per hour is required. The water supply can be provided from the engine’s cooling system or a dedicated hull inlet. For vessels operating above 12 knots, an external water feed is recommended. On slower vessels, the hose may be routed above the waterline to serve as a vent, allowing reliable operation without external feed. This configuration ensures constant lubrication and cooling, preventing wear and overheating.
