The Vetus ZWB45A Flexible Inner Bearing is designed for optimal shaft sealing performance in marine propulsion systems. Suitable for 45 mm propeller shafts and 71 mm stern tubes, this self-aligning bronze inner bearing provides exceptional reliability, long service life, and enhanced leak protection.

It features dual vulcanized sealing lips that offer double protection against water ingress, while the self-aligning design compensates for minor shaft misalignments, ensuring smooth and vibration-free operation. The precision-engineered bronze housing consists of two parts, one of which is fitted with a Ø10 mm hose barb for a continuous water supply. This setup provides consistent lubrication and cooling of the water-lubricated bearing during operation.

For optimal performance, a minimum of 20 liters of water per hour should be supplied from the engine’s cooling system or a dedicated hull inlet. For vessels exceeding 12 knots, an external water feed is highly recommended. For slower vessels, the hose can be routed above the waterline to act as a vent. A grease nipple on the top of the unit enables silicone lubrication of the sealing lips, extending durability and sealing performance.
