The Vetus PLA50L Planus Escape Hatch (article PLA50L) is a stylish low-profile CE Category A, Area II hatch featuring a satin-sheen anodized aluminium frame and a 10 mm dark-smoke acrylic pane. With a cut-out size of 471 × 471 mm and external dimensions of 521 × 521 mm, it provides secure emergency egress, ventilation, and deck access. Two friction hinges allow up to 180° opening and hold the lid at any angle, while two handles enable internal and external locking. Compatible mosquito screen trim (HCM50) available as an option.

Vetus PLA50L Planus Escape Hatch CE AII – 471 × 471 mm Cut-Out
The Vetus PLA50L Planus escape hatch delivers a reliable and visually refined solution for offshore-rated deck openings. Designed for CE Category A, Area II applications, its streamlined 20 mm above-deck profile helps to prevent snagging and improves the vessel’s exterior aesthetics.
The satin sheen anodized aluminium frame offers strong marine corrosion resistance, while the 10 mm dark-smoke acrylic pane ensures rigidity and reduces solar glare. Two friction hinges enable a full 180° opening capability and support the lid at any angle. Dual handles allow secure locking in closed or ventilation positions and can be operated from both inside and outside the vessel.
