The Vetus PLA40L Planus Deck Hatch (article PLA40L) is a low-profile CE Category A, Area II hatch with a cut-out size of 374 × 374 mm and external dimensions of 424 × 424 mm. It features a satin-sheen anodized aluminium frame with 75 mm corner radius and a 10 mm dark-smoke acrylic lid. Two friction hinges allow up to 180° opening, holding the lid at any angle, while two handles allow secure locking and operation from inside and outside. Optional mosquito screen system available.

The Vetus PLA40L Planus hatch delivers a well-balanced combination of elegant appearance and durable marine-grade construction for CE Category A, Area II deck installations. Its streamlined, low-profile design rising only 20 mm above deck helps achieve a clean, safe, and visually modern deck layout.
A satin sheen anodized aluminium frame provides corrosion resistance and long-lasting performance, while the 10 mm dark-smoke acrylic pane reduces heat and glare inside the vessel. Two friction hinges allow easy opening to any angle up to 180° without additional support struts, and a dual-handle system supports both external and internal access with secure locking.
