The Vetus ZWB25I Flexible Inner Bearing is a high-performance bronze inner shaft bearing system designed for 25 mm propeller shafts and 43 mm stern tubes. This innovative assembly provides double sealing protection and reliable self-alignment for smooth, maintenance-free operation.

The unit features dual vulcanized sealing lips for double protection against water leakage. Its bronze housing consists of two precision-machined parts — one fitted with a hose barb for a Ø10 mm connection. This enables a continuous water supply for lubrication and cooling of the water-lubricated bearing, significantly extending service life.

To ensure proper lubrication, a minimum of 20 liters of water per hour must be supplied, ideally from the engine’s cooling system or a dedicated hull inlet. For vessels operating above 12 knots, direct water feed is recommended. For slower boats, the hose connection can serve as a vent by routing it above the waterline.

A grease nipple at the top of the housing allows the application of silicone grease to the sealing lips, maintaining flexibility and long-term sealing efficiency. The system is fully compatible with Vetus bronze, GRP, and steel stern tubes, providing an environmentally friendly and virtually maintenance-free solution.
