The Vetus STE6012D retractable thruster increases manoeuvrability on sailboats and vessels with shallow forefoots or elevated sterns. Its compact short duct focuses water flow to ensure efficient thrust only when needed. When retracted, a flat bottom plate forms a smooth hull surface that minimizes resistance under sail.
The swing mechanism operates via a permanently lubricated pivot bearing, reducing moving parts and extending operational life. Automatic retraction activates when the control panel is switched off or after 15 minutes of inactivity. Electronic protection prevents mechanical overload and jamming, while a delay between directional changes protects gears.
