The Vetus BOW55HMD hydraulic bow thruster delivers 55 kgf thrust and supports continuous-duty operation, making it suitable for demanding manoeuvring tasks. Designed for installation in Ø150 mm tunnels made from GRP, steel, or aluminum, this thruster can also be fitted aft as a stern thruster for enhanced vessel handling.
The hydraulic drive eliminates the need for a high-current electrical system at the thruster location, improving system reliability and simplifying cable routing. It provides smooth, consistent thrust and supports optional proportional control for precise steering. The thruster integrates easily with existing hydraulic systems or can be powered by a dedicated diesel-driven power pack.
By using a power pack solution, essential onboard generators may be downsized, as hydraulic equipment no longer requires large electrical capacities. This flexibility allows upgrading current systems while increasing manoeuvring efficiency and operational durability.
