The Vetus BOW230HMD bow thruster provides 230 kgf hydraulic thrust for reliable manoeuvring of large vessels. Its continuous running capability ensures consistent performance in challenging marine environments. Designed for Ø300 mm tunnels made of steel, aluminum, or GRP, it may also be installed as a stern thruster for maximum control during docking and low-speed operations.
As a fully hydraulic system, no electrical power is required near the thruster, eliminating high-current cabling and reducing installation complexity. The thruster supports proportional control options for precise steering. It can integrate seamlessly with existing hydraulic networks or operate via a standalone diesel-driven power pack that includes a matched hydraulic pump.
By utilizing a hydraulic power pack, generator size demands can be reduced, as hydraulic equipment is powered independently of onboard electrical systems. This thruster design ensures easy system upgrades and long-term reliability with minimal maintenance requirements.
