The Vetus BOWB180 delivers exceptionally high thrust with fully proportional and precise control, designed for vessels between 44 and 68 ft (15–20 m). It enables confident maneuvering in tight marinas, heavy current areas, and strong crosswind conditions.
This Boosted model incorporates an exclusive built-in DC-to-DC smart charger feature, enabling a 48 V thruster battery bank to be charged from a 24 VDC onboard power system. The intelligent three-stage charging system activates only when safe voltage is available, providing optimal battery care without draining the engine starting bank.
The patented MCV motor controller maximizes performance and ensures seamless system connectivity using the Vetus V-CAN CANBUS protocol. Integrated protections against overheating and low battery conditions enhance safety and operational reliability onboard.
The brushless induction motor is completely maintenance-free and supports extended run cycles. The design allows a smooth retrofit onto existing 250 mm tunnel installations, whether Vetus or compatible brands.
