The Tides Marine SureSeal Twin Injection Propeller Shaft Seal is a drip-free, self-aligning shaft seal kit designed for twin-engine vessels, featuring dual water injection fittings to support a passive crossover line between port and starboard seals. This crossover helps maintain cooling and lubricating water flow to the seal on an idle engine (e.g., trolling or single-engine operation). The SureSeal housing is fiber-reinforced composite with an integral PTFE bearing and a replaceable lip seal accessible via a removable front cap; kits are supplied with an articulating hose and four hose clamps, and can be paired with Spare Seal Carrier Kits to allow lip-seal replacement without uncoupling the shaft.

Tides Marine SureSeal Twin Injection Propeller Shaft Seal Kits – Metric Sizes (Dual Injection)
The Tides Marine SureSeal™ is a drip-free, self-aligning propeller shaft seal used as OEM equipment on many vessels. This Twin Injection configuration is recommended for twin-engine installations, where the second injection fitting is used to create a passive crossover feed between the port and starboard shaft seals. This helps ensure the SureSeal on an idle engine still receives cooling and lubricating water during trolling or single-engine operation.
Key features
- Drip-free, self-aligning shaft seal design
- Dual injection fittings for crossover line capability (twin-engine applications)
- Fiber-reinforced composite housing — durable and dimensionally stable
- Integral PTFE bearing for extended service life
- Replaceable lip seal with removable front cap access
- Articulating hose helps reduce side loads and simplifies installation
Water supply requirements & important notes
- Cooling/lubricating water supply should provide minimum 1 US gallon per minute at idle and approximately 2 psi, increasing with RPM.
- Before operating the vessel, test water supply to both SureSeal units.
- The SureSeal is not recommended for engines with fewer than 4 cylinders.
- Never use grease of any kind.
Selection checklist
- Propeller shaft diameter (mm)
- Stern tube OD (mm)
- Confirm sufficient clean, smooth shaft area where the lip seal will ride
- Confirm there is enough distance between stern tube end and coupling for the SureSeal (and add clearance if fitting a Spare Seal Carrier Kit)

Maintenance
- Inspect the articulating hose and clamps for damage/corrosion at least annually.
- Check injection hoses and fittings for debris; verify steady water flow.
- SureSeal assemblies require no winterization; winterization fluids will not harm the SureSeal.
