The Tides Marine SureSeal Single Injection Propeller Shaft Seal is a drip-free, self-aligning sealing system for stainless steel propeller shafts, supplied as a kit with an articulating hose and four hose clamps. The SureSeal housing is made from fiber-reinforced composite, includes an integral PTFE bearing, and uses a replaceable lip seal accessed through a removable front cap. Cooling/lubricating water is supplied via a single 316 stainless steel injection fitting (3/8" or 1/2" depending on shaft size). For servicing convenience, SureSeal can be paired with a Spare Seal Carrier Kit to enable lip seal replacement without uncoupling the shaft and, when applicable, in the water.

Tides Marine SureSeal Single Injection Propeller Shaft Seals – Drip-Free Self-Aligning Shaft Seal Kits (Metric Sizes)
The Tides Marine SureSeal™ is a drip-free, self-aligning propeller shaft seal designed to provide a watertight seal with minimal scheduled maintenance. The SureSeal kit is supplied with an application-specific connecting hose (articulating hose in most cases) and four hose clamps. A removable front cap provides access for lip seal replacement.

Water Injection Requirement
- Water supply should deliver a minimum of 1 gallon per minute at idle speed and approximately 2 psi.
- Water flow should increase as engine RPM increases.
- Before operating the vessel, the water supply must be tested.
Important Notes
- The lip seal typically rides on the shaft 4 to 7 inches ahead of the stern tube.
- The shaft surface in the sealing area must be clean and free of rust, pits, or tool marks.
- If a worn groove from a stuffing box cannot be avoided by hose positioning, a face seal product may be a better choice.
- Warning: The SureSeal is not recommended for engines with less than 4 cylinders.
- Never use grease of any kind.
How to Select the Correct SureSeal (Metric)
- Measure propeller shaft diameter (Shaft OD).
- Measure stern tube outside diameter (Tube OD).
- Verify you have at least the listed minimum distance from stern tube to coupling for the selected kit.
- If installing a Spare Seal Carrier Kit, add 1 inch to the required minimum distance.
