The Tides Marine SureSeal Single Injection Propeller Shaft Seal (FSK series) is a drip-free, self-aligning shaft seal kit for stainless steel propeller shafts (imperial sizes 1"–3"), supplied as a complete kit with an articulating hose and four hose clamps. The composite housing contains an integral PTFE bearing and a replaceable lip seal accessible via a removable front cap; cooling/lubricating water is supplied through a 3/8" or 1/2" 316 stainless steel injection fitting. SureSeal is easy to install, requires minimal scheduled maintenance, and can be used with Spare Seal Carrier Kits to allow lip-seal replacement without uncoupling the shaft (when carrier is fitted).

The Tides Marine SureSeal™ is a drip-free, self-aligning propeller shaft seal engineered for reliable long-term service on vessels with stainless steel propeller shafts. Supplied as a kit, most SureSeal units include an articulating connecting hose and four hose clamps. The composite housing resists water absorption and temperature change, the integral PTFE bearing reduces wear, and the removable front cap provides access for lip-seal replacement.

Water injection & operating note

Minimum recommended water supply: ≈1 US gallon per minute at idle (~2 psi). Flow should increase with engine speed.
Always test water supply to the SureSeal before operating the vessel.
The SureSeal is not recommended for engines with fewer than 4 cylinders.
Never use grease of any kind on the lip seal or bearing surfaces.

Selection & installation reminders

Measure propeller shaft diameter (imperial) and verify stern tube OD to confirm the correct part number.
Confirm there is a clean, smooth shaft area where the lip seal will ride; the SureSeal lip seal normally sits several inches ahead of the stern tube — shaft condition is critical.
If installing a Spare Seal Carrier Kit, follow the carrier instructions and ensure minimum clearances from the SureSeal housing.
