Yacht Devices YDTC-13NT Digital Thermometer with NMEA 2000 Micro Male Connector and Built-In 120 Ohm Terminator, -55 to +125°C
The Yacht Devices YDTC-13NT is a digital marine thermometer designed for precise temperature measurement in NMEA 2000 networks. It measures gases and liquids over a range from -55 to +125°C (-67 to +257°F) and transmits temperature data to compatible chart plotters, digital navigation instruments and other NMEA 2000 equipment.
The YDTC-13NT version combines an NMEA 2000 Micro Male connector with an integrated 120 Ohm terminator. It is designed to be installed at the end of an NMEA 2000 bus in place of an existing terminator, allowing the thermometer to provide both temperature measurement and network termination at the same connection point.

Built-In NMEA 2000 Terminator
The YDTC-13NT contains an integrated 120 Ohm termination resistor. According to NMEA 2000 network topology, terminators are installed at both ends of the bus, and a T-suffix device such as the YDTC-13NT is connected instead of one of these terminators.
- Integrated termination resistance: 120 Ohm
- Designed for installation at the end of the NMEA 2000 bus
- Replaces an existing network terminator
- A maximum of two terminating devices or terminators may be present on one NMEA 2000 bus
Configurable Temperature Types
Type Temperature Data 0 Sea Temperature 1 Outside Temperature 2 Inside Temperature 3 Engine Room Temperature 4 Main Cabin Temperature 5 Live Well Temperature 6 Bait Well Temperature 7 Refrigeration Temperature 8 Heating System Temperature 9 Dew Point Temperature 10 Wind Chill Temperature, Apparent 11 Wind Chill Temperature, Theoretical 12 Heat Index Temperature 13 Freezer Temperature
The factory setting is Outside Temperature.
NMEA 2000 Data Output
The thermometer can transmit measured temperature through several NMEA 2000 PGNs depending on the configured temperature type and connected display equipment.
- PGN 130310
- PGN 130311
- PGN 130312
- PGN 130316
The periodic message transmission interval can be configured from 50 milliseconds to 1 hour. A value of 0 disables transmission of the selected PGN.
Historical Temperature Data
The device stores measurements from the previous 48 hours in internal RAM. Historical temperature data can be retrieved using compatible software or hardware such as CAN Log Viewer or an NMEA 2000 Wi-Fi Gateway.
Digital Switching Support
With firmware version 1.50 or later, the YDTC-13NT can control channels of compatible NMEA 2000 digital switching equipment supporting PGN 127502 Switch Bank Control.
- Up to 3 configurable ON rules
- Up to 3 configurable OFF rules
- Switching based on actual measured temperature
- Configurable condition delay
- Suitable for automatic pump, ventilation or alarm control through compatible switching equipment
Sensor Cable Extension
The standard 950 mm sensor cable can be extended up to 100 meters. For extension, the manufacturer specifies a three-conductor cable with a conductor cross-section of at least 0.2 mm² and a conductor diameter of at least 0.5 mm.
- Maximum sensor cable extension: 100 m
- Minimum conductor cross-section: 0.2 mm²
- Minimum conductor diameter: 0.5 mm
- Suitable cable types include UTP 3, UTP 5 and UTP 5e with AWG-24 or AWG-22 conductors
The extended cable should be routed away from strong electromagnetic interference sources such as motors, compressors, generators, electric pumps and transmitting antennas.
Installation
The YDTC-13NT must be installed at an end of the NMEA 2000 bus in place of an existing terminator. Bus power should be switched off before connecting the device.
The device itself should be installed in a dry location. The external stainless-steel sensor sleeve is waterproof, but it is not intended for permanent installation in aggressive environments such as seawater.
