Yacht Devices YDTC-13N Digital Thermometer with NMEA 2000 Micro Male Connector, -55 to +125°C
The Yacht Devices YDTC-13N is a digital marine thermometer designed for precise temperature measurement in NMEA 2000 networks. It measures gases and liquids over a temperature range from -55 to +125°C (-67 to +257°F) and transmits the measured data to compatible chart plotters, digital navigation instruments and other NMEA 2000 equipment.
The temperature sensor is located outside the device case in a sealed stainless-steel sleeve and is connected by a flexible 950 mm cable. The sensor cable can be extended by the user up to 100 meters when required.

NMEA 2000 Data Output
The YDTC-13N can transmit temperature data through several NMEA 2000 messages depending on the configured temperature type and connected equipment.
- PGN 130310
- PGN 130311
- PGN 130312
- PGN 130316
The transmission interval can be configured from 50 milliseconds to 1 hour, while a value of 0 disables transmission of the selected PGN.
Historical Temperature Data
The thermometer stores measurements from the previous 48 hours in internal RAM. Historical data can be retrieved by compatible software or hardware, including CAN Log Viewer or an NMEA 2000 Wi-Fi Gateway.
Digital Switching Support
With firmware version 1.50 or later, the YDTC-13N can control channels of NMEA 2000 digital switching equipment supporting PGN 127502 Switch Bank Control.
- Up to 3 configurable ON rules
- Up to 3 configurable OFF rules
- Switching based on actual temperature
- Configurable switching delay
- Can automatically control pumps, alarms or other compatible loads
Sensor Cable Extension
The 950 mm sensor cable can be extended up to 100 meters. The manufacturer specifies a three-conductor extension cable with a conductor cross-section of at least 0.2 mm² and a conductor diameter of at least 0.5 mm.
- Maximum extension length: 100 m
- Minimum conductor cross-section: 0.2 mm²
- Minimum conductor diameter: 0.5 mm
- UTP 3, UTP 5 and UTP 5e cables with AWG-24 or AWG-22 conductors are suitable
The cable should be routed away from strong electromagnetic interference sources such as motors, compressors, generators, electric pumps and transmitting antennas.
Installation
The thermometer is directly connected to the NMEA 2000 bus without a drop cable. The device should be installed in a dry location and bus power must be switched off before connection.
The external stainless-steel sensor sleeve is waterproof, but it is not intended for permanent installation in hostile environments such as seawater. For outdoor installation, the manufacturer recommends protecting the sensor case against corrosion.
