The Yacht Devices YDBM-01R is a marine battery and DC circuit monitor with a Raymarine SeaTalk NG-compatible network connector, designed to measure voltage and bidirectional current and report both measured and calculated battery data to NMEA 2000 equipment. It supports external shunts rated from 5 to 2500 A with a recommended 75 mV nominal drop, provides ±0.5% current measurement accuracy and 0.1 V voltage measurement accuracy, accepts up to 40 V DC on its inputs, and provides 2500 VRMS isolation between the NMEA 2000 interface and measurement inputs. The unit operates from 7–16 V, consumes 50 mA on average, measures 54 mm in case length and weighs 60 g.

The Yacht Devices YDBM-01R is a marine battery and DC circuit monitoring device designed for integration with Raymarine SeaTalk NG and NMEA 2000 networks. It measures voltage and bidirectional current through an external shunt and makes measured and calculated electrical data available to compatible multifunction displays, instrument displays and other equipment on the network.
Although primarily intended for marine battery monitoring, the YDBM-01R can also be used with a single DC source or load, including alternators, wind generators, windlasses and refrigerators. When the required battery parameters are configured, the device can calculate State of Charge, consumed ampere-hours, battery time remaining and State of Health.

Battery and DC Monitoring
The YDBM-01R measures both positive and negative current. Negative values indicate battery discharge, while positive values indicate charging. Battery calculations are available when the required battery characteristics are configured.

The device is primarily designed for Lead Acid and Lithium-ion battery calculations. Battery nominal voltage, capacity, chemistry, discharge rate and other parameters can be configured according to the connected battery.
External Shunt
An external shunt is required for current measurement and is not supplied with the Battery Monitor. The device supports shunt ratings from 5 to 2500 A and is designed primarily for use with a 75 mV shunt.
The Battery Monitor measures shunt voltage over a range of -50 to +50 mV. The shunt rated current and nominal voltage drop must be entered in the device configuration.
SeaTalk NG and NMEA 2000 Integration
The YDBM-01R is the Raymarine SeaTalk NG-compatible version of the Battery Monitor. It can be connected directly to the network backbone without a drop cable.
Measured voltage, current and temperature data can be reported through NMEA 2000 Battery Status data, while calculated parameters such as State of Charge and time remaining can be supplied through DC Detailed Status data.
Digital Switching Support
Measured voltage, current, external battery temperature and calculated State of Charge can be used to manage compatible NMEA 2000 digital switching channels or trigger a digital alarm unit using PGN 127501 and PGN 127502.

MicroSD Configuration and Firmware Updates
The YDBM-01R incorporates a MicroSD card slot for configuration and firmware updates. It supports FAT, FAT12, FAT16 and FAT32 file systems.
Device configuration can also be performed through compatible PC software and an appropriate NMEA 2000 gateway.
