The Yacht Devices YDBM-01N is an NMEA 2000 battery and DC circuit monitor with an NMEA 2000 Micro Male connector, designed to measure voltage and bidirectional current and provide calculated battery data such as state of charge, consumed ampere-hours, time remaining and state of health. It supports external shunts rated from 5 to 2500 A, with a recommended nominal drop of 75 mV, provides ±0.5% current measurement accuracy and 0.1 V voltage measurement accuracy, and accepts up to 40 V DC on its measurement inputs. The unit operates from 7–16 V via NMEA 2000, consumes 50 mA on average, measures 54 mm in case length and weighs 60 g.

The Yacht Devices YDBM-01N is a marine battery and DC circuit monitoring device designed for integration with NMEA 2000 networks. It measures voltage and bidirectional current through an external shunt and makes measured and calculated electrical data available to compatible multifunction displays, instrument displays and other devices connected to the NMEA 2000 network.
Although primarily intended for marine battery monitoring, the YDBM-01N can also be used with a single DC source or load, including alternators, wind generators, windlasses and refrigerators. Battery calculations can include state of charge, consumed ampere-hours, time remaining and state of health when the required battery parameters are configured.

Battery and DC Monitoring
The YDBM-01N measures both positive and negative current. Negative current values indicate battery discharge, while positive values indicate charging. For battery applications, the device can calculate additional operating parameters when the required battery characteristics are configured.

The device supports calculations for Lead Acid and Lithium-ion batteries. Battery nominal voltage, capacity, chemistry, discharge rate and other parameters can be configured according to the connected battery.
External Shunt
An external shunt is required for current measurement and is not supplied with the Battery Monitor. The YDBM-01N supports shunt current ratings from 5 to 2500 A and is designed primarily for use with a 75 mV shunt.
The device measures shunt voltage over a range of -50 to +50 mV. A 75 mV shunt is recommended, and its rated current and nominal voltage drop must be specified in the device configuration.
NMEA 2000 Integration
The YDBM-01N is equipped with an NMEA 2000 Micro Male connector and can be connected directly to an NMEA 2000 backbone without a drop cable.
Battery voltage, current and temperature data can be transmitted using NMEA 2000 Battery Status information, while calculated parameters including State of Charge and time remaining can be made available through DC Detailed Status data.
Digital Switching Support
Measured voltage, current, external battery temperature and calculated State of Charge data can be used to manage compatible NMEA 2000 digital switching channels or trigger an alarm unit using PGN 127501 and PGN 127502.

MicroSD Configuration and Firmware Updates
The Battery Monitor incorporates a MicroSD card slot for configuration and firmware updates. It supports cards of all sizes and classes formatted with FAT, FAT12, FAT16 or FAT32 file systems.
Device configuration can also be performed through compatible PC software and an appropriate NMEA 2000 gateway.
