Yacht Devices YDBC-05N Digital Barometer with NMEA 2000 Micro Male Connector, 300–1100 hPa
The Yacht Devices YDBC-05N is a digital barometer designed for precise atmospheric pressure monitoring on NMEA 2000-equipped vessels. Its pressure sensor is integrated inside the device case, and measured data can be displayed on compatible chart plotters, digital navigation instruments and other NMEA 2000 equipment.
The barometer measures atmospheric pressure over a range of 300 to 1100 hPa and outputs data with a resolution of 0.01 hPa. It provides a relative measurement accuracy of ±0.12 hPa and an absolute measurement accuracy of ±1 hPa within an ambient temperature range of 0°C to +65°C.

Electrical and Physical Specifications
Parameter Specification Model YDBC-05N Network connection NMEA 2000 Micro Male Operating voltage 7–16 V from NMEA 2000 network Current consumption 24 mA Reverse polarity protection Yes Load Equivalency Number 1 LEN Operating temperature range -40°C to +80°C Weight 11 g
NMEA 2000 Integration
The YDBC-05N is intended for operation on NMEA 2000 networks and uses an NMEA 2000 Micro Male connector. It is also compatible with DeviceNet Micro Male and Garmin NMEA 2000 Male network connections.
Atmospheric pressure data is available to all compatible equipment connected to the network and can be displayed simultaneously on multiple chart plotters and digital navigation instruments. Compatible displays can show pressure values as graphs or trend indicators, making it easier to monitor weather changes over time.
Historical Data and Weather Trend Monitoring
The device stores measurements from the previous 48 hours in RAM. This historical data can be retrieved using compatible Yacht Devices software or hardware, including CAN Log Viewer or an NMEA 2000 Wi-Fi Gateway.
Digital Switching Support
The barometer can be configured to control compatible NMEA 2000 digital switching channels based on atmospheric pressure conditions. Rules can be created using the current pressure value, pressure change over the previous 30 minutes, or pressure change over the previous hour.
- Switching based on current atmospheric pressure
- Switching based on 30-minute pressure rise or fall
- Switching based on 1-hour pressure rise or fall
- Suitable for triggering external alarms when pressure drops rapidly
Configuration
The sensor is factory calibrated. A pressure offset from -10.0 to +10.0 hPa can be configured to align the barometer reading with other onboard instruments when required.
