Osculati split spring lock washers, commonly known as Grower washers, are manufactured from AISI 316 stainless steel and are listed according to DIN 127 / UNI 1751. These washers feature a circular split-ring construction with offset ends and are designed for use in compatible metric threaded fastening assemblies.

The split and helical profile provides spring action when the washer is compressed between a bolt head or nut and the mounting surface. This construction is traditionally used to add resistance to loosening in suitable fastening connections.

Unlike conventional DIN 125 flat washers, Grower washers are not flat in their uncompressed state. Their split-ring design allows elastic deformation during tightening, while the cut ends can interact with the adjoining contact surfaces.
