Osculati countersunk self-tapping screws are manufactured from A2 (AISI 304) stainless steel and are listed according to DIN 7982 / UNI 6955. They feature a flat countersunk head, a cross-recessed drive and a self-tapping thread for fastening compatible components and materials.

The flat countersunk head has a tapered underside designed to fit into a matching countersunk recess. When correctly installed, the head can sit flush with the mounting surface, providing a smooth finish without a protruding screw head. The cross-recessed drive allows installation using a correctly sized screwdriver or driver bit.

The self-tapping thread is designed to form a mating thread in suitable materials during installation. Depending on the substrate, material thickness and fastening requirements, an appropriately sized pilot hole may be necessary. These screws differ from metric machine screws intended for use with standard threaded nuts or tapped holes.

A2 (AISI 304) stainless steel provides corrosion resistance for general indoor, outdoor and suitable marine applications. For installations exposed to high chloride concentrations or prolonged saltwater contact, the material grade and operating conditions should be considered.
