Osculati pan head self-tapping screws are manufactured from A2 (AISI 304) stainless steel and are listed according to DIN 7981 / UNI 6954. They feature a rounded pan head, a cross-recessed drive and a self-tapping thread for fastening compatible components and materials.

The pan head has a raised, rounded profile with a flat underside that bears against the mounting surface. Unlike countersunk screws, the head remains above the surface after installation. The cross-recessed drive allows tightening and removal using a matching screwdriver or driver bit.

The self-tapping thread is designed to form a mating thread during installation in suitable materials. Depending on the substrate, material thickness and fastening requirements, a correctly sized pilot hole may be needed. These screws are different from metric machine screws intended for use with standard threaded nuts or tapped holes.

A2 (AISI 304) stainless steel provides corrosion resistance for general indoor, outdoor and appropriate marine applications. The suitability of the material depends on environmental exposure, particularly where high chloride concentrations or prolonged saltwater contact are expected.
