The Tecnoseal 01042 and 01042AL are sacrificial side anodes designed for Flex-O-Fold folding propellers. Supplied in pairs of two, these anodes provide replaceable corrosion protection for electrically connected underwater metallic components of compatible folding propeller assemblies.

Both variants feature a compact circular body with a recessed central fastening opening. Each anode measures 32 mm (1.26 in) in outside diameter and 13 mm (0.51 in) in height, with a 6 mm (0.24 in) mounting hole. The mounting geometry is identical for both versions, allowing selection according to the required sacrificial material.

The zinc version 01042 corresponds to original Flexofold part number #114 and has a catalogue weight of 0.12 kg (0.26 lbs). The aluminium version 01042AL corresponds to original part number #118 and weighs 0.05 kg (0.11 lbs).

Design and Mounting Configuration

Each anode has a circular external profile with a recessed central mounting hole. The recessed section accommodates the corresponding fastening arrangement, while the compact body is designed for placement on the propeller assembly.

The manufacturer's technical drawing specifies a 32 mm outside diameter, 13 mm overall height and 6 mm central mounting hole. Both material versions share these dimensions and are supplied in pairs.

Corrosion Protection and Material Selection

The Tecnoseal 01042 and 01042AL act as sacrificial corrosion protection components for compatible Flex-O-Fold propellers. The anode material is gradually consumed, helping protect electrically connected underwater metallic components against galvanic corrosion.

• Zinc: Commonly selected for saltwater applications.
• Aluminium: Suitable for many saltwater and brackish-water sacrificial protection applications, subject to the propeller manufacturer's recommendations.

Select the appropriate material according to the operating environment, existing corrosion protection system and original propeller specifications.

Inspection and Replacement

Inspect the anodes during routine propeller maintenance. Replace them when significantly depleted, and ensure suitable electrical contact with the metallic components requiring protection.
