Tecnoseal 01040 / 01040MG Flexofold Propeller Nut Anode – Zinc & Magnesium

The Tecnoseal 01040 and 01040MG Flexofold propeller nut anodes are sacrificial corrosion protection components designed for compatible Flexofold folding propeller assemblies. Available in zinc and magnesium, these anodes replace original Flexofold part numbers #112 and #117 respectively.

The manufacturer specifies compatibility with Flexofold 2-blade closed propellers, 3-blade propellers and 4-blade propellers up to 23 inches. Both versions share the same conical, dome-shaped body and mounting geometry, allowing the required sacrificial material to be selected without changing the listed external dimensions.

The anode has an outside diameter of 70 mm (2.76 in) and an overall height of 37 mm (1.46 in). Its mounting configuration includes three fastening holes, a 50 mm mounting dimension (i), a 14 mm dimension (b) and the specified diameters Ø1 = 14 mm, Ø2 = 8 mm and Ø3 = 11 mm. The zinc version weighs 0.48 kg, while the magnesium version weighs 0.12 kg.

Design and Mounting Configuration

Both versions feature a conical, dome-shaped body with a circular mounting base and three fastening holes arranged around the central opening. The manufacturer's drawing specifies an outside diameter of 70 mm, a height of 37 mm and a mounting dimension of 50 mm.

The technical geometry also includes dimension b = 14 mm, Ø1 = 14 mm, Ø2 = 8 mm and Ø3 = 11 mm. These measurements help identify the correct replacement for the corresponding Flexofold propeller assembly.

Corrosion Protection and Material Selection

Both zinc and magnesium versions act as sacrificial anodes, helping protect electrically connected underwater metallic propeller components against galvanic corrosion.
