The Maxwell 1000 VWCLP is a vertical automatic chain windlass from the VWC Series, engineered for efficient handling of chain-only anchor rodes. Designed for compact, low-profile installations, this model features a 50 mm TDC configuration and supports 6–10 mm short-link chain for reliable anchor deployment and retrieval.

In addition to automatic chain handling, the windlass incorporates an independent capstan that enables retrieval of a secondary rope or chain rode and provides assistance during docking procedures. Fully automatic single or dual direction chainwheel operation ensures controlled and efficient anchor management in marine environments.

Above-deck components are manufactured from marine-grade stainless steel (AISI 316) for long-term durability. The integral chain pipe and stripper are aligned for virtually jam-free operation, providing automatic feed of chain into and out of the anchor locker. A cone-type brake and clutch mechanism permits manual free-fall anchoring, offering smooth and progressive engagement for precise operator control.

The modular design allows simple through-deck installation with precise alignment of the gearbox to the topworks using marine-grade stainless steel bolts. All models feature an anodized aluminium gearbox and spacer tube, along with a heavy-duty dual-direction motor designed specifically for marine winch applications.
