The Vetus KO53 Type 6 Flexible Coupling is a high-precision marine shaft coupling developed for professional and recreational vessels requiring superior vibration control and easy installation. It features a special conical clamping hub that ensures a 100% concentric fit between the propeller shaft and gearbox flange, eliminating runout and ensuring perfect balance at all speeds.
Designed specifically for V-drive installations, the KO53 provides efficient torsional vibration damping and smooth torque transfer between the engine and propeller shaft. This results in reduced mechanical stress, quieter operation, and longer service life of the entire driveline system. Its flexible rubber element absorbs cyclic irregularities and compensates for minor misalignments without compromising propulsion efficiency.
The coupling fits directly onto Hurth, Velvet, Technodrive, ZF, and PRM gearboxes and is available with both 4” and 5” flange connections. For installations using Volvo, Yanmar, or Kanzaki gearboxes, optional adapter flanges provide seamless compatibility.
