Clamcleat CL238 is a silver aluminium Racing Vertical cleat for 6–12 mm (1/4–1/2") rope, fitted with a manually operated red spring gate that helps prevent unintended rope entry into the cleat. Based on the CL219 design, it uses the same 72 mm mounting centres and higher-load alloy construction while adding controlled rope access for applications where the line should remain free until deliberately cleated.

Clamcleat CL238 Racing Vertical Cleat with Spring Gate for 6–12 mm Rope, Silver Aluminium
Clamcleat CL238 is an aluminium Racing Vertical cleat designed for ropes from 6 to 12 mm (1/4–1/2") and fitted with a manually operated spring gate.
The red gate can be lifted by hand to keep the rope out of the cleat teeth and help prevent unintended cleating. When the line needs to be secured, the gate can be moved aside and the rope dropped into the cleat in the normal way.
The CL238 is based on the CL219 Racing Vertical cleat and uses the same 72 mm mounting centres. The underside of the cleat is engraved “CL219” for reference.
The aluminium construction provides higher-load capability than the nylon CL237 version, while the spring gate adds controlled rope entry for deck and other rope-management applications.
