Tecnoseal USA Universal zinc pencil anodes are replaceable sacrificial corrosion protection components designed for compatible marine engine cooling systems, heat exchangers and other water-cooled marine equipment. The cylindrical zinc bodies provide sacrificial protection for metallic components in contact with cooling water, helping reduce galvanic corrosion.

The range includes 23 Tecnoseal models with zinc body diameters ranging from 6.35 mm (1/4") to 32 mm (1-1/4") and body lengths from 12.7 mm (1/2") to 152 mm (approximately 6"). Different diameter and length combinations are available to suit a variety of mounting arrangements and installation spaces.

Each anode uses the Tecnoseal T1 configuration with a threaded mounting extension. Depending on the model, the mounting connection features a 1/4", 5/16", 3/8", 7/16", 1/2" or 3/4" UNC thread. The threaded extension length varies between 8 and 13 mm.

All versions are manufactured from zinc and supplied individually as replacement pencil anodes without brass mounting plugs. The range includes compact 3 g anodes for small installations and larger models weighing up to 650 g.

The smallest USA Universal pencil anodes feature a 6.35 mm diameter zinc body and a 1/4" UNC threaded connection. Both models have an 8 mm threaded extension. The TEC-E00-Z measures 51 mm in body length and weighs 10 g, while the compact TEC-E00A-Z measures 12.7 mm and weighs 3 g.

The 12.7 mm diameter group offers six model references with a common 3/8" UNC connection and a 12 mm threaded extension. Zinc body lengths range from 25 mm to 51 mm. The TEC-E0H-Z and TEC-E1E-Z share the same Ø12.7 x 38 mm dimensions, threaded connection and weight, and are listed as equivalent references in the Tecnoseal range.

Four models are available with 16 mm diameter zinc bodies and 7/16" UNC threaded connections. The shortest TEC-E2A-Z measures 25 mm in body length, while the longer TEC-E2B-Z measures 76 mm. All versions have a 12 mm threaded extension and weigh between 40 and 110 g.

The TEC-E8-Z has a larger 32 mm body diameter with a shorter 57 mm body length and weighs 350 g.

Mounting Configuration

All Tecnoseal USA Universal pencil anodes use the T1 reference configuration with a cylindrical zinc body and an external threaded mounting extension.

Thread dimensions vary across the range, and even anodes with identical body diameters may use different threaded connections. For example, the 9.5 mm diameter models are available with 1/4", 5/16" and 3/8" UNC threads.

The threaded extension lengths are:

Application and Compatibility

These sacrificial zinc pencil anodes are intended for compatible marine engine cooling systems, heat exchangers and similar water-cooled equipment requiring replaceable threaded zinc elements.

The USA Universal designation identifies the product series rather than compatibility with every engine or cooling system. Installation requires matching the original zinc rod dimensions, external thread and available space inside the cooling system.

Model Selection

Select the required Tecnoseal pencil anode by comparing the original component's body diameter, length, threaded extension length and UNC thread size.

For installations with limited internal clearance, shorter zinc bodies are available from 12.7 mm. Longer models are available up to 152 mm where the original installation allows sufficient space.

Pay particular attention to the threaded connection. UNC threads are not interchangeable with NPT tapered pipe threads or metric mounting threads.
