Tecnoseal USA Universal zinc pencil anodes are sacrificial corrosion protection components supplied complete with brass mounting plugs. Designed for compatible marine engine cooling systems, heat exchangers and other water-cooled marine equipment, these assemblies help protect metallic components exposed to cooling water against galvanic corrosion.

The range includes 17 Tecnoseal models with cylindrical zinc rods measuring 6.35, 9.5, 12.7, 16 or 19 mm in diameter. Available zinc rod lengths range from 19 mm to 92 mm, providing different configurations for installations with varying space requirements.

Each assembly combines a replaceable zinc element with a brass mounting plug featuring a tapered NPT external thread. Depending on the model, mounting connections are available in 1/8", 1/4", 3/8", 1/2" and 3/4" NPT sizes. The brass plug head dimensions range from 11 to 27 mm.

All models use the Tecnoseal 2T pencil configuration and are supplied individually as complete zinc anode and brass plug assemblies. Individual weights range from 0.03 kg to 0.59 kg.

Mounting Configuration

All Tecnoseal USA Universal pencil anodes in this range use the 2T configuration, combining a cylindrical zinc sacrificial element with a brass mounting plug.

The brass plug features a tapered external NPT thread for installation into a compatible threaded port. The zinc rod extends from the opposite side of the plug into the cooling water passage.

Application and Compatibility

These Tecnoseal USA Universal sacrificial pencil anodes are intended for compatible marine engine cooling systems, heat exchangers and other water-cooled equipment using replaceable zinc anodes with threaded brass mounting plugs.

The USA Universal designation identifies the anode series and does not mean that every model fits every cooling system. Compatibility depends on the original component dimensions, mounting thread and available installation clearance.

Model Selection

Choose the appropriate Tecnoseal zinc pencil anode by comparing the original zinc rod diameter, body length, external plug thread and brass plug head dimensions.

Models with the same zinc rod diameter may feature different mounting threads. For example, the 9.5 mm diameter range includes both 1/4" NPT and 3/8" NPT versions.

For the 12.7 mm diameter series, all models share a 3/8" NPT connection, but differ in rod length and, in the case of TEC-E1F, brass plug head dimension.

NPT tapered pipe threads must not be confused with UNC straight threads or BSP threaded connections. Confirm the existing threaded port before ordering.
