The Tecnoseal TKA01 and TKA02 De-Icer Aerator Anodes are sacrificial corrosion protection components designed for compatible marine de-icer and aerator equipment. Available in zinc, aluminium and magnesium, these anodes help protect associated metallic parts against galvanic corrosion in aquatic environments.

Both series feature a split, tapered cylindrical body with mounting holes. The outside diameter is 38 mm (1.50 in), and the overall height is 32 mm (1.26 in). The primary difference between the two series is the central opening diameter: 16 mm (5/8 in) for TKA01 and 12.7 mm (1/2 in) for TKA02.

When selecting a replacement, first verify the required central opening diameter. Choose the TKA01 series for 16 mm mounting applications or TKA02 for 12.7 mm mounting applications.

Next, select the appropriate sacrificial anode material according to the equipment manufacturer's requirements and operating water conditions. Zinc, aluminium and magnesium have different electrochemical properties and should not be substituted without confirming suitability.

Installation and Maintenance

The split-body configuration allows the anode to be positioned around a compatible mounting component. The mounting arrangement must provide secure attachment and appropriate electrical contact with the metal requiring protection.

During service, the sacrificial material gradually wears away. Periodic inspection is recommended to assess consumption and determine when replacement is required.
