Yacht Devices YDAB-01 NMEA 2000 Alarm Button
The Yacht Devices YDAB-01 NMEA 2000 Alarm Button is a versatile device that enhances safety and functionality on your vessel. Designed for connection with an external button with an LED indicator and a standard 4 or 8 Ohm sound speaker, this device includes a 10W audio amplifier and a bank with 28 sound signals such as car anti-theft alarms, ship horns, whistles, and tone signals.
Key Features
- Multi-Functional: Can be configured as a MOB button, digital switching alarm unit, or engine monitoring unit.
- 28 Sound Signals: Includes a variety of sound alarms for different situations.
- Integrated 10W Audio Amplifier: Provides clear and loud audio alerts.
- LED Indicator: Connects with buttons that have integrated LED indicators for visual alerts.
Configuration Options
- MOB Button (Default Mode): Pressing the button for two seconds sounds an alarm and sends AIS MOB messages with the current GPS position. This sets a MOB position mark on a chart plotter.
- Digital Switching Alarm Unit: Acts as an NMEA 2000 binary switch bank with 28 channels, each with a unique sound alarm and LED flashing sequence. Channels can be managed from other equipment or chart plotters.
- Engine Monitoring Unit: Produces sound alarms based on engine alarms sent by the engine control unit or gateway to NMEA 2000. Can be programmed for specific temperature or engine revolution thresholds.
Applications
This device is ideal for:
- Setting MOB marks and waking up the crew quickly without an MFD in the cockpit.
- Providing a hardware MOB button required by racing rules.
- Sound alarms managed from a button or MFD screen, especially useful in noisy conditions.
- Monitoring engine parameters and alerting helmsmen of abnormal readings, particularly for rental boats.
- Sounding alarms from sensors or other devices.
Integration and Control
With the NMEA 2000 Wi-Fi Router or Gateway, sound alarms can be managed from mobile devices or PCs using Web Gauges, without software installation. The device also supports firmware updates, user sound file uploads, and advanced configuration settings. Volume control and mode selection are accessible via the connected button.
Six sound alarms can be managed from modern MFDs with CZone support, including models from B&G, Simrad, Lowrance, Furuno, and Raymarine. Four alarms can be managed from hardware buttons connected to the Switch Control. Multiple Alarm Buttons in digital switching mode can work synchronously or independently with unique bank numbers.
