The device is compatible with BRP Rotax engines (tested on the Rotax 1503 4-tec engine), SmartCraft (Mercury, MerCruiser), engines with a digital J1939 bus (Caterpillar, Yanmar 4JH, etc.), as well as with most Volvo Penta engines produced since 2004, and with some models produced before 2000.
Compatible Volvo Penta engine models:
- all models equipped with EVC-B, EVC-C, EVC-D, EVC-E systems (since 2006);
- EVC-A MC (e.g. D3-160A-A) and EVC-A EC (also known as EVCmc and EVCec);
- D1 and D2 series equipped with MDI (Mechanical Diesel Interface), e.g. D2-40F;
- diesel engines with EDC III and EDC IV system (e.g. EMS 2.0 and EMS 2.2);
- gasoline engines with a MEFI4B controller and older (2004-2005);
- gasoline engines with EGC system (2005 and later).
Connection Methods:
The device comes in design versions with a connector for connecting to the Raymarine SeaTalk NG network and with an NMEA Micro Male connector. On most ships equipped with Volvo Penta engines, it is enough to connect the device to a free NMEA 2000 network connector and to the engine: to the Multilink digital bus or in series with an EVC tachometer through the built-in Y-shaped adapter. Inexpensive adapter cables for other engine models are also available.
Features:
- Low cost and easy to install, usually no additional cables are required
- high-voltage galvanic isolation between J1939 bus and NMEA 2000 network;
- factory-configured, the device does not transmit any data to the J1939 bus;
- Easy setup with a text file on a microSD card
- ability to record data from the motor for diagnostics;
- free diagnostic software compatible with Microsoft Windows, Mac OS and Linux is available;
- one device supports up to 8 engines and transmissions, 8 batteries and 10 fuel tanks;
- adjustment of volume and shape of fuel tanks by 12 points is supported.
The device has passed NMEA certification. Current consumption from the NMEA 2000 network: 38 mA at a supply voltage of 7-16 V. The length of the motor interface cable (from the case to the connector): 500 mm. Body length (without connector): 54 mm
