Tecnoseal 00483 / 00488-1 Max Prop Zinc 3-Hole Propeller Anodes for Ø100 mm Hub
The Tecnoseal 00483 and 00488-1 are zinc sacrificial propeller anodes designed for compatible Max Prop propeller assemblies with a 100 mm hub diameter. Both feature a three-hole fastening arrangement and serve as replaceable corrosion protection components for electrically connected underwater metallic parts of the propeller system.
These two anodes have different external profiles and mounting dimensions despite sharing the same specified propeller hub size. The Tecnoseal 00483 has a 100 mm outside diameter and an overall height of 60 mm, while the Tecnoseal 00488-1 has a smaller 92 mm outside diameter and a greater height of 68 mm. Their different geometries allow the correct replacement to be selected according to the existing Max Prop configuration.
Both versions are manufactured from zinc and feature a rounded, tapered body with a recessed internal mounting area. The anodes are designed to provide sacrificial galvanic corrosion protection for compatible underwater metallic components when properly installed with suitable electrical contact.

Available Variants
- Tecnoseal 00483 – Ø100 × 60 mm: Zinc Max Prop anode for a 100 mm propeller hub. Outside diameter: 100 mm, height: 60 mm, mounting dimension i: 72 mm, internal diameter Ø1: 52 mm and mounting hole diameter Ø2: 6.5 mm. Weight: 1.08 kg.
- Tecnoseal 00488-1 – Ø92 × 68 mm: Zinc Max Prop anode for a 100 mm propeller hub. Outside diameter: 92 mm, height: 68 mm, mounting dimension i: 65 mm, internal diameter Ø1: 52 mm and mounting hole diameter Ø2: 6 mm. Weight: 1.00 kg.
Max Prop Compatibility
Both Tecnoseal anodes are listed for Max Prop propeller hubs with a diameter of 100 mm. However, they have different mounting dimensions and external shapes, so they should not be considered interchangeable based solely on the hub diameter.
The 00483 has a 100 mm outside diameter and a 72 mm mounting dimension, while the 00488-1 has a 92 mm outside diameter and a 65 mm mounting dimension. Both feature an internal diameter of 52 mm, but their fastening hole diameters also differ.
Before ordering, compare the existing anode's external dimensions, mounting hole arrangement and shape with the manufacturer's technical drawing.
Design and Mounting Configuration
These Max Prop anodes feature a tapered body with a rounded exterior and a circular mounting base. The manufacturer specifies three mounting holes positioned around the outer body, together with a recessed internal section.
The Tecnoseal 00483 measures 100 mm in outside diameter and 60 mm in height. Its mounting dimension (i) is 72 mm, while its internal diameter (Ø1) is 52 mm and mounting hole diameter (Ø2) is 6.5 mm.
The Tecnoseal 00488-1 measures 92 mm in outside diameter and 68 mm in height. It has a mounting dimension (i) of 65 mm, an internal diameter (Ø1) of 52 mm and mounting hole diameter (Ø2) of 6 mm.
These differences are relevant for identifying the correct replacement for a particular Max Prop assembly.
Galvanic Corrosion Protection
Both anodes are manufactured from zinc and designed to function as sacrificial corrosion protection components. When electrically connected to the underwater metallic parts requiring protection, zinc corrodes preferentially, helping reduce galvanic corrosion.
Zinc sacrificial anodes are commonly used for saltwater applications. The suitability of the material should be checked according to the vessel's operating environment and the propeller manufacturer's recommendations.
Inspection and Replacement
Inspect the propeller anode during routine maintenance and replace it when significantly depleted or damaged. Check that the anode remains securely fastened and that the mounting surfaces allow suitable electrical contact.
For replacement, confirm the propeller hub diameter and compare the existing anode's shape, mounting dimension and fastening hole arrangement before selecting either version.
