The Maxwell RC12-10 vertical automatic rope/chain hydraulic windlass with drum, article number Vetus P104929, is a stainless steel anchor winch designed for use with 10 mm or 3/8" chain and nylon rope with diameters from 16 mm to 20 mm (5/8" to 3/4"). This hydraulic version of Maxwell’s top-range RC Series delivers a maximum pull of 1134 kg and features an integrated drum for additional line handling. The windlass incorporates an automatic rope/chain handling system and a ratcheted mechanism lever that prevents backwinding during emergency manual retrieval, and is supplied as a complete package for fully automatic dual-direction control.

Maxwell RC12-10 Vertical Automatic Rope and Chain Hydraulic Windlass with Drum
The Maxwell RC12-10 is a stainless steel vertical automatic rope/chain windlass with drum from Maxwell’s top-range RC Series. This hydraulic model is designed for controlled anchoring operations using short-link chain in combination with nylon rope and provides additional handling capability through its integrated drum.
The windlass features an automatic rope/chain handling system and a ratcheted mechanism lever that prevents backwinding during emergency manual retrieval of the anchor rode. For safe and correct operation, the windlass must be used in conjunction with a chain stopper and/or an alternative snubbing device to remove load from the windlass while the vessel is lying at anchor. These systems must also be used to secure the anchor in the fully raised position when underway.
