Encased in a sealed housing, it shields the thruster from explosive gases and corrosion, ensuring reliability in challenging marine environments. The thruster comes equipped with all necessary seals, electrical connections, and fastening components, simplifying installation. Additionally, it features an automatic fuse for control, operable externally without opening the housing, adding convenience and safety.

Meeting the requirements of ISO 8846 Marine standards for "fire-resistant execution," the Vetus BOW9512DI can be installed as a stern thruster with the appropriate kit. It features a waterproof rating of IP65 and is powered by a 12 or 24 V battery. The thruster operates continuously for 7-10 minutes or cumulatively for up to an hour. Equipped with a DC electric motor, sequential windings, and carbon brushes, it ensures reliable performance.
