The Vetus BOW5524DI bow thruster is engineered for powerful and quiet manoeuvring with 60 kgf thrust output at 24 V. It features a watertight ignition-protected housing to prevent any contact between potentially explosive vapors and internal components, ensuring compliance with ISO 8846 Marine 'Ignition Protection'. The sealed construction also protects against corrosion in harsh marine environments.
The unique single-propeller blade design reduces cavitation noise and disturbance inside the tunnel, supported by spiral gears and a flexible coupling to minimize vibration and transmission noise. With its compact Ø150 mm tunnel diameter, this thruster is easier to integrate into vessels from 8.5 to 12.5 meters in length. An externally resettable automatic fuse helps maintain performance without compromising enclosure safety.
