Optiparts EX2157 is a classic rope-linked traveler block assembly designed for Laser® and ILCA® dinghies, offering a lightweight alternative to standard clip-linked traveler systems by using a high-strength Dyneema rope connection between upper and lower blocks.
This advanced design reduces overall rigging weight while maintaining exceptional strength and flexibility under load. The Dyneema rope link minimizes metal hardware mass and allows freer articulation between blocks, improving traveler responsiveness during dynamic mainsheet trimming.
The upper block features a 40 mm plain bearing sheave for mainsheet load handling with line capacity up to 10 mm, while the lower block uses a 28 mm plain bearing sheave supporting lines up to 8 mm diameter. Together they provide smooth load transfer and reliable low-friction traveler operation.
