Yacht Devices YDAB-01N NMEA 2000 Alarm Button with Micro Male Connector, MOB, Digital Switching and Engine Monitoring
The Yacht Devices YDAB-01N Alarm Button is a multifunctional NMEA 2000 device designed for onboard alarm, MOB, digital switching and engine monitoring applications. The YDAB-01N version is equipped with an NMEA 2000 Micro Male connector and is supplied with an external push button featuring an integrated LED.
The device includes a built-in 10 W audio amplifier and can be connected to a standard 4 or 8 Ohm sound speaker. Its internal memory contains 28 pre-recorded sound signals, which can be associated with different alarms and events depending on the selected operating mode.
Main Operating Modes
- MOB button mode
- Digital switching alarm unit
- Engine monitoring and alarm unit
MOB Button Function
MOB mode is the factory-default operating mode. Holding the connected button for two seconds activates the sound alarm and starts transmission of NMEA 2000 MOB messages using the current GPS position received from the NMEA 2000 network.
- Activates by holding the external button for 2 seconds
- Sends NMEA 2000 MOB messages
- Uses current GPS position received from the NMEA 2000 network
- Creates an MOB position mark on compatible chart plotters and multifunction displays
- Activates the sound alarm and external LED indication
- A second button press cancels the MOB alarm and stops MOB message transmission
The MOB messages generated by the YDAB-01N remain within the vessel's NMEA 2000 network and are not transmitted externally by VHF or AIS.
Digital Switching Alarm Unit
In digital switching mode, the YDAB-01N functions as an NMEA 2000 binary switch bank with 28 internal channels. Each channel can be associated with its own sound alarm and LED flashing sequence.
- 28 digital switching channels
- 28 sound alarm events
- 28 external LED indication sequences
- Channels can be switched on or off from compatible equipment
- Supports NMEA 2000 digital switching messages
- Supports CZone control from compatible multifunction displays
- Multiple Alarm Buttons with the same bank number can operate synchronously
Engine Monitoring Function
In engine alarm mode, the YDAB-01N can monitor engine and transmission information available on the NMEA 2000 network and activate audible and visual alarms when engine warning flags are received or specified operating parameters move outside configured limits.
- Engine and transmission warning monitoring
- Engine RPM monitoring
- Engine coolant temperature monitoring
- Engine oil pressure monitoring
- Boost pressure monitoring
- Configurable alarm thresholds and delays
- Can monitor all engines or a selected NMEA 2000 engine instance

Installation and Connectivity
The YDAB-01N can be connected directly to an NMEA 2000 backbone connector or through a standard DeviceNet NMEA 2000 Micro drop cable. The device is powered from the NMEA 2000 network. Because audio playback can create a relatively high current demand, installation close to the NMEA 2000 power connection is recommended.
Configuration and Integration
- Operating mode and sound level can be configured using the external button
- Advanced parameters can be configured through NMEA 2000 installation description strings
- Supports control from compatible MFDs with CZone support in digital switching mode
- Compatible with Yacht Devices NMEA 2000 Wi-Fi Gateway, Wi-Fi Router and USB Gateway for configuration and management
- Firmware can be updated using Yacht Devices CAN Log Viewer
- Selected built-in sound slots can be replaced with compatible custom sound files
