The Tecnoseal Variprofile VP76 Propeller Nut Anodes are sacrificial corrosion protection components designed for compatible Variprofile VP76 propeller assemblies. The range includes three material options: zinc (01075), aluminium (01075AL) and magnesium (01075MG), each manufactured with the same nominal dimensions and mounting geometry.

According to the manufacturer’s compatibility information, these anodes are intended for Variprofile VP76 propellers in the 20–26 inch propeller size range. Their rounded, dome-shaped construction incorporates a recessed circular mounting base and central fastening arrangement, allowing installation on the corresponding propeller component.

Each variant measures 68 mm (2.68 in) in outside diameter and 29 mm (1.14 in) in overall height, with a central diameter (Ø1) of 6 mm (0.24 in) and a base diameter (Ø2) of 60 mm (2.36 in). The material and weight differ between versions, allowing selection according to the vessel's operating water conditions.

Variprofile VP76 Compatibility

The Tecnoseal 01075 series is designed for Variprofile VP76 propellers with a manufacturer-listed propeller diameter range of 20 to 26 inches.

This diameter range refers to the compatible propeller size rather than the shaft diameter or the outside diameter of the anode. All three material options share the same mounting dimensions and are intended for the same VP76 propeller configuration.

Before ordering, verify the propeller model and compare the existing anode's dimensions and mounting arrangement with the manufacturer's technical drawing.

Design and Mounting Configuration

The Variprofile VP76 anode has a rounded, dome-shaped external profile with a flat circular mounting base. The manufacturer's illustrations show a central axial opening together with additional mounting positions located on the base.

The overall height (h) measures 29 mm, while the external diameter (Ø) is 68 mm. The central diameter (Ø1) is 6 mm, and the base diameter (Ø2) measures 60 mm.

These dimensions remain identical across the zinc, aluminium and magnesium variants. The material determines the sacrificial corrosion protection characteristics and the weight of the anode.

Zinc, Aluminium and Magnesium Options

The Tecnoseal VP76 propeller nut anode is available in three sacrificial materials for different operating water conditions:

• Zinc – Tecnoseal 01075: Commonly used for galvanic corrosion protection in saltwater environments. Weight: 0.39 kg.
• Aluminium – Tecnoseal 01075AL: Used for appropriate saltwater and brackish-water corrosion protection applications, subject to the propeller manufacturer's recommendations. Weight: 0.16 kg.
• Magnesium – Tecnoseal 01075MG: Generally selected for freshwater corrosion protection applications. Weight: 0.10 kg.

When correctly installed with suitable electrical contact, the sacrificial anode material corrodes preferentially, helping protect electrically connected underwater metallic propeller components from galvanic corrosion.

The appropriate material should be selected according to operating water conditions, the existing corrosion protection system and the propeller manufacturer's instructions.

Inspection and Replacement

Inspect the anode during routine propeller maintenance and replace it when the sacrificial material is significantly depleted, damaged or no longer securely mounted.

Before fitting the replacement, confirm the Variprofile VP76 model, inspect the mounting surfaces and fastening points, and ensure suitable electrical contact with the metallic parts requiring protection.
