The Vetus WOA000A is a rectangular weld-on aluminium hull anode developed for effective cathodic protection of underwater metal components on vessels operating primarily in inland (fresh) waters. Aluminium anodes are recommended in freshwater environments because aluminium provides a greater potential difference than zinc under high electrical resistance conditions. This anode is manufactured from an aluminium-indium-zinc alloy in accordance with MIL-A-24779 (SH) specifications, ensuring stable and predictable corrosion performance.
While aluminium anodes can also function in saltwater, they are consumed at a faster rate than zinc. For saltwater or brackish water operation, zinc anodes are therefore preferred. The WOA000A is supplied with galvanized steel tags, allowing direct weld-on installation to metal hulls for a low-profile and permanent mounting solution. Its compact format makes it suitable for localized protection or installation in confined areas.
