The Yacht Devices BRP CAN (Bombardier Rotax) Engine Gateway Adaptor provides a direct connection between a YDEG-04 Engine Gateway and BRP CAN engine systems. The supported Engine Gateway firmware can process data from up to two BRP engines and transmit engine speed, engine hours, engine temperature, boost pressure, keyswitch battery voltage, fuel rate, fuel tank level and engine warnings to NMEA 2000 instruments. BRP CAN operates at 500 kbps, and engine data is accessed through the BRP CAN diagnostics connector located near the fuse box.

Yacht Devices BRP CAN Engine Gateway Adaptor for Bombardier Rotax Engines and YDEG-04
The Yacht Devices BRP CAN Engine Gateway Adaptor is designed to simplify the connection of a YDEG-04 Engine Gateway to engines using the BRP CAN protocol, including Bombardier Rotax engine systems.
With supported Engine Gateway firmware, the system can handle data from up to two BRP engines on the same network. Engine information received through the BRP CAN diagnostics connection can then be made available to compatible NMEA 2000 instruments.

BRP CAN Protocol Configuration
BRP CAN uses a bus speed of 500 kbps, compared with 250 kbps for J1939. To activate BRP CAN protocol support, the following parameters must be added to the Engine Gateway configuration file:
