The MME Aluminium Teardrop Weld-On Anode is designed to provide sacrificial corrosion protection for steel boat hulls and rudders. It combines an aluminium anode body with a steel mounting strip intended for welded installation on steel hulls.

Technical Specifications and Available Models

The MME steel hull anode range includes six models with different aluminium body dimensions and steel mounting strip specifications. All dimensions are specified in millimetres.

Steel Mounting Strip Construction

Each anode features a teardrop-shaped aluminium body with an extended steel mounting strip. The strip is intended for welded attachment to steel hulls.

The mounting strip dimensions vary depending on the selected model:

• MME02A: 200 × 10 × 3 mm steel strip.
• MME04A: 260 × 20 × 3 mm steel strip.
• MME08A: 300 × 20 × 3 mm steel strip.
• MME12A: 300 × 20 × 3 mm steel strip.
• MME4AB: 230 × 25 × 3 mm steel strip.
• MME8AB: 230 × 25 × 3 mm steel strip.

All six models have a mounting strip thickness of 3 mm. The strip length and width differ according to the model.

Dimensions and Model Selection

The range includes six anode sizes. Body dimensions are specified as length × width × height.

• MME02A (1735): Aluminium body measuring 120 × 40 × 25 mm, with a 200 × 10 × 3 mm steel strip.
• MME04A (1736): Aluminium body measuring 180 × 60 × 32 mm, with a 260 × 20 × 3 mm steel strip.
• MME08A (1737): Aluminium body measuring 220 × 75 × 38 mm, with a 300 × 20 × 3 mm steel strip.
• MME12A (1738): Aluminium body measuring 200 × 95 × 30 mm, with a 300 × 20 × 3 mm steel strip.
• MME4AB: Aluminium body measuring 200 × 70 × 30 mm, with a 230 × 25 × 3 mm steel strip.
• MME8AB: Aluminium body measuring 200 × 80 × 40 mm, with a 230 × 25 × 3 mm steel strip.

The MME04A and MME08A models have the same body dimensions as the corresponding MME04AA and MME08AA versions for aluminium hulls. They differ in the mounting strip material and intended hull compatibility.

Application and Corrosion Protection

The MME aluminium anode acts as a sacrificial component, corroding preferentially to help protect the vessel's metal components against corrosion.

This range is intended for steel hull installations. The steel mounting strip provides the welding arrangement for attaching the aluminium anode to the steel hull.
