The Vetus ZINKAS35C is a heavy-duty shaft collar zinc anode engineered for effective cathodic protection of propeller shafts with a diameter of 35 mm. Shaft anodes operate in high-flow conditions and must remain securely fixed throughout their service life. The ZINKAS series incorporates an interlock system in both halves, ensuring perfect alignment and preventing the anode from loosening, even as material is progressively consumed.
This anode is manufactured from high-purity zinc in accordance with MIL-A-18001K specifications, delivering predictable electrochemical performance in saltwater and brackish environments. Shaft anodes are not recommended for high-speed vessels, as they may generate turbulence around the propeller and, during erosion, can introduce imbalance in the shaft. For such applications, a propeller nut with an integrated anode is preferred. For conventional propulsion systems, the ZINKAS35C provides dependable and long-term shaft protection.
