Vetus ZINK8C Zinc Hull Anode Type 8 for Transom Mounting
The Vetus ZINK8C is a hull anode manufactured from high-grade zinc in accordance with MIL-A-18001K specifications. Zinc anodes are recommended for vessels operating in salt water or brackish water and are essential for cathodic protection of all underwater metal components. Type 8 is specifically designed for transom mounting and provides effective protection for steel, aluminium, wooden, and fibreglass hulls when correctly installed.
Cathodic protection by means of sacrificial anodes is required to prevent corrosion of underwater metal parts. All Vetus zinc anodes are streamlined and intended for installation using specially designed studs or through-hull bolts, supplied separately. The mounting surface of each anode is protected with a paint layer to prevent damage to the vessel’s finish. This anode is supplied excluding the connection kit; one connection kit is required for Type 8.
