Vetus ALU35C Aluminium Hull Anode Type 35 Rectangular
The Vetus ALU35C is a hull anode manufactured from an aluminium-indium-zinc alloy in accordance with MIL-A-24779 (SH) specifications. Aluminium anodes are recommended for vessels that mostly operate in inland (fresh) waters, where higher electrical resistance requires a greater potential difference than zinc can provide. Type 35 features a rectangular contour and increased mass, delivering extended cathodic protection for underwater metal components on steel, aluminium, fibreglass, and wooden hulls.
Cathodic protection by means of sacrificial anodes is essential for preventing corrosion of all submerged metal parts. Vetus aluminium anodes are streamlined and intended for installation using specially designed studs or through-hull bolts, supplied separately. All metal components must have direct electrical contact with the anode. On fibreglass and wooden hulls, only the metal parts are protected and wire-connected bolts are required. Each anode includes a protective paint layer on the mounting surface to prevent damage to the vessel’s finish. This anode is supplied excluding the connection kit; Type 35 requires one connection kit.
